Product Information

DESCRIPTION

Supplied in a dry powder form PolyBoard Render only requires clean potable water to produce a smooth paste with minimal drying shrinkage and excellent adhesion to any clean, sound, non-weathered EPS surfaces. PolyBoard Render has been designed as a fast rendering material for base coat application for difficult low absorbency (uncoated) masonry substrates such as Off-Form Concrete and smooth masonry. The applicator must make their own determinations as to the suitability of this material relevant to specific requirements.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surface preparation is the responsibility of the Builder / Renovator / Main Contractor and the Applicator. The substrate must be clean, dry and free of all powdery residue or any other contaminants that may interfere with adhesion.

APPLICATION

PolyBoard Render is applied by hawk and trowel to a thickness between 2mm to 6mm to the surface from the bottom upwards in a single layer to the required thickness. Optimum results are achieved when applied in 4 – 6mm layers. Care should be taken not to overwork the surface area. Please Note application of PolyBoard Render to (XPS) Extruded Polystyrene: • Extruded Polystyrene requires priming and the addition of JPS Bonding Agent. • To fresh clean water, make up the following liquid gauge. • 2 parts Bonding agent to 5 parts water.

DRYING / CURING TIMES

PolyBoard Render will dry at 25℃ and 50% relative humidity normally in 2-8 hours, however drying will take longer at lower temperatures or higher relative humidity. PolyBoard Render may be overcoated with any texture coating after 7 days. PolyBoard Render must only be applied when temperature is between 10℃ – 30℃

MIXING

Mix 1 x 20kg bag of PolyBoard Render with 5 – 5.3 litres of water to obtain correct lump free consistency using a power stirrer or similar device. Care should be taken to ensure PolyBoard Render is thoroughly mixed. Dependant on the ambient temperature and the desired consistency, the amount of water required may vary slightly but should not exceed 5.5 litres per 20kg bag of PolyBoard Render. Mix the entire product to a creamy consistency, let settle for 5 – 10 minutes, re-drill product, do not add any more water.
Excess mixing water may result in surface crazing, cracking and as well as delaminating.

COVERAGE

1 X 20kg bag of PolyBoard Render will cover approximately 6-8m2 at an average thickness of 2mm.
