Cova-Wall® Insulated Polystyrene Wall Cladding Systems

Polystyrene continues to gain recognition within the building and construction industry for delivering excellent performance in a wide scope of applications. The innovative building material is most widely used for insulation cladding, yielding superior results in numerous factors — thermal performance, dimensional stability and cost efficiency, to name a few — when stacked up against traditional timber, concrete, masonry, or steel.

JPS Coatings harnesses the sought-after properties of polystyrene to achieve the cutting-edge Cova-Wall® formula. The premium polystyrene incorporated in Cova-Wall® is reinforced with a fibreglass mesh. When rendered, Cova-Wall® consists of a full cavity batten system finished off with a 4-6mm render, a texture coat, and a decorative sealer. The completed insulated polystyrene wall cladding system is lightweight, yet structurally strong and resistant to premature deterioration.

Cova-Wall® can maintain stability even under harsh weather conditions. JPS Coatings equipped the system with a water and vapour barrier that lasts 10 up to 12 years with minimal upkeep. Cova-Wall® also exhibits fire retardant properties, as well as wind resistance tested to AS 4500-2012. The weatherproofing abilities of Cova-Wall® fully comply with AS/NZS 4284:2008, specifying building facade performance under simulated loading conditions. It has yielded successful results from methodised tests, including water migration, structural integrity at extreme limits, and displacement of the facade or prototype.

In action, Cova-Wall® registers high, long-term R-values with its specially designed Exterior Insulation Finish System (EIFS). Its outstanding thermal efficiency allows buildings to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures all year round, with little to no upkeep.

JPS Coatings offers Cova-Wall® with either a plain EPS panel or a pre-rendered panel. All Cova-Wall® cladding systems have received the CodeMark® certification from the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB). CodeMark® is a third-party certification scheme for building products, in accordance with the mandatory compliance requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) as specified in Volumes One and Two of the National Construction Code (NCC).
